Entry No. 1

So here it goes: Welcome to this Blog! In the next few month I will be posting regular updates, stories and anecdotes about my journey to Canada. In September 2017 I will be leaving for Toronto to take part in an international exchange between my university in Germany and York University.

I created this blog because I like writing down my memories and re-reading it once I return home. But also because I believe that there might be people out there who are actually interested in what I am up to. There might be people visiting this blog purely to scroll through the photographs I upload. Either way, I am happy you are on this page!

So what does ohwsik actually stand for? It is the short version for "Oh, wie schön ist Kanada" meaning something like "Canada is oh so wonderful!". This is not my first blog. Two years ago I started my first blog called "ohwsia" and I wrote about my trip to Africa. I stayed a little longer than four month and had an incredible good time. As you can imagine it takes a lot of time to set this page up and to update the blog regularly. Of course it is really fun creating the images and writing down some thoughts and experiences.
